Trevor De Vries is a lifelong St. John resident, husband, father of four, and trusted advisor to businesses and labor leaders. He’s not a career politician. He’s a husband, dad, and neighbor who decided to step up because he cares deeply about the future of his hometown, Northwest Indiana, and the state he loves.

Trevor was raised by parents who taught him that hard work, personal responsibility, and going the extra mile weren’t optional - they were expected. He learned early that when something needs to get done, you don’t wait for someone else. You roll up your sleeves and get to work. It’s a lesson he carries into his career and works to instill in his four children.

 

Trevor has great respect for the hardworking people of Lake County - the families, small business owners, skilled tradesmen and women, teachers, healthcare workers, and employees who get up every day, work hard, and take pride in providing for their families and strengthening their communities. Their grit, common sense, and determination reflect the values Trevor was raised with, and he understands the challenges they face because he is one of them.

Trevor decided to run for the State Senate after seeing the challenges facing families across Northwest Indiana, from rising costs and taxes to the difficulty of building a secure future. He believes government should make it easier, not harder, for Hoosier families to succeed. That means listening to people, finding common-sense solutions, and putting results ahead of politics.

A graduate of Purdue University and Illiana Christian High School, Trevor is an insurance professional and longtime community servant. He serves as a Precinct Committeeman, volunteers at Living Stones Church, and has supported programs serving individuals with special needs for more than a decade.

Trevor is running for Indiana State Senate District 1 to help keep Northwest Indiana a place where families can put down roots, raise their children, find opportunity, and build a future they’re proud of.
